While reading the book to my six year old she laughed and laughed at the adventures Twinkie takes. She enjoyed the book so much it just made me feel very good to see her enjoying this book. It is a book to share with all children and teaches compassion, love, and family to children.

I purchased this book for my children thinking they would like it. I was wrong, it turns out they loved it! Twinkie the Tiniest Dog in the World highlights the trials and tribulations in the life of a tenacious Chihuahua. With the love and care of her new family, Twinkie made a remarkable recovery after she was found in the streets suffering from pneumonia and a fractured leg. The book while entertaining, teaches children about overcoming adversity and the importance of a family. Author Isabelle Thompson magically captured moments in Twinkie’s life through a very well written book enhanced with witty dialogue and adorable photographs. Children and adults alike will be attracted to Twinkie’s humorous encounters with a myriad of animals including cats, dogs, bugs, deer, a skunk, squirrel, and a horse. Twinkie the Tiniest Dog in the World will be a hit with your children!

What a fun read for kids and grownups alike! This exciting photo book takes us through Twinkie’s adoption while very sick and handicapped through her life with her new family and lots of animal friends. Fantastic print quality photos tell Twinkie’s tale with exciting captions and text. Perfect for any animal love and must for kids. Looking forward to more!

The Bravest Little Dog, October 18, 2009

I just read Twinkie and am eagerly ordering copies to share with both my adult puppy loving friends and my younger nieces and nephews. While the story is delightful for any reader, I think it will appeal especially to children who have been reluctant readers. A true story can compel a child to learn what really happened “in the end”. Such was the case with my son and the classic, BALDO THE BRAVEST DOG. While Twinkie may not get her likeness cast in bronze in Central Park her personal bravery is sure to inspire. You will want to share this little book with every primary school teacher and homeschooling family you know.

Excellent read along or elementary school book. Funny pictures and fun simple text. Teaches sweet story about the rescue of a pet and the people and animals that become its “family.” Very entertaining. Kids really enjoy it.

The reviews are in, now is there a better gift for a child than a book? Absolutely not! Children’s story books are fun and educational.

Brief update: I’ve been getting lots of feedback on my Hand Held Ultrasonic Bark Control review of the PetZoom Sonic Pet Trainer. I haven’t heard a single negative thing, yet. Everybody raves about it. The only complaint was that some folks forget it and leave home without it. As for us, I day it was a huge success if you consider the fact that it’s barely been used a couple of dozen times. That’s how well it worked. The barking has decreased by more than 40% and the PetZoom is sitting in a drawer.
